COURSE DESCRIPTION

Hey friends!

Thank you very much for your interest in this powerful 14-day course. Today, more than ever, there are no excuses for not practicing.

This course is one of the most beautiful projects that I completed in my life, and it spreads inspiration and motivation just by seeing the incredible musical results and energy of those who have participated. This course is worth years of private lessons!

This is the result of over 20 years of my own research in music and in practicing. I will share with you some of the ideas that I've learn at the academic unvierse, such as Berklee College of Music, as well as what I learn by transcribing and playing by ear during my time in New York City.

This course will help you improve your musicianship in amazing ways!

Although the examples are with an electric bass, this methodology applies to any instrument (guitarists, horn players, drummers, piano players, upright bass, violin, cello, viona, and harp players have completed this course).

This is some of the content of this course:

  • Developing a practice routine (and working on your discipline). I will share with you a series of daily exercises (the same ones that I've practiced over the years).

  • Topics that will apply to all instruments:

      • How to create bass lines (theory, example and exercises)
      • Tonal functions: harmony and how to play by ear
      • Ear Training
      • Stamina, speed, ghost notes, and developing a good sound
      • "Sliding" pentatonics
      • Playing horizontally
      • Greek Modes: how to practice them
      • Triads: major, minor, augmented and diminished
      • Improvisation concepts
      • Introduction to reading music: J. S. Bach and Astor Piazzolla
      • Improving your inner time and your time feel (exercises with the metronome)
      • South Indian Rhythmic Solfege
      • Counterpoint: improvise melodies that sound like harmony!
      • Walking Bass Lines examples
      • Melodic embellishment
      • Secondary dominants
      • Introduction to Bop Scales
      • The Melodic Minor
      • Introduction to Odd Meters
      • Introduction to Chord Melody

Information:

This is a 14-day course. Every morning you will get an email from me, explaining the daily content, which includes between 5-8 videos, charts and written information.

Although it is not required to participate in the live webinars, we will have 5 of them. Exclusive for the participants of this course, where we will bring light to all the doubts and questions that you may have about the exercises and the program. (if you cannot make it to the live lessons, you can watch them later on)

You have to have at least 60 minutes of practice per day. If someone cannot find the time for that, this is not for you. This course is not about information and licks, this is about music, about working hard and seeing amazing improvements, and about finding your own voice!

My goal with this course is that you will have a clear direction in your practice routines for the rest of your musical life!

All the examples are recorded with a 4-string bass (standard tuning). These videos will work on all kinds of bass guitars, guitar, violin, cello, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, upright bass, harp, piano and more!

The total cost of this course is US$ 60 (if you are paying in other currencies, PayPal will convert it to US dollars).

TESTIMONIALS

An excellent course, especially having permanent access to information is a gem, I highly recommend it, whoever has not taken it is missing an excellent opportunity to get out of their comfort zone.

The course is a very complete compilation, in 14 days you feel that you advance 14 years, it is a very generous material by the teacher Andres Rot.

I loved being part of this. Clear structure, easy to follow short videos that gives a foundation on how to be a better bassist and musician. A lot was covered in a short time but Andres reminds you to take things at your own pace. I will be reviewing the videos again, since they are on-demand now, and aiming to make daily improvements.

Andres is a natural teacher. The lessons are clear, the exercises are very musical, and Andres is approachable and infectiously enthusiastic about his teaching. More importantly than the content of the course is that it teaches you to teach yourself. It’s really instilled some great habits and given me a much more musical perspective on practice.

Andrés' love for music and bass makes everyone feel amazed. After taking your course, I feel that I learned what with another would have taken me years.

This course allowed me to apply some of the skills I know and the newly learned skills together, and even have many, many new ideas.

Without a doubt the best music course that I took, where Andrés detailed a multitude of information that we will not find in books and that he complemented with his experience throughout his career. Very grateful and one hundred percent recommended.

High quality audio and video with tons of stuff to practice!

Good practice material that can improve the playing of both beginners and advanced people.

You transmit a lot of calm for learning and your course is super motivational.

Andres is an amazing leader & instructor, he makes himself available to the student. The course was amazing, full of incredible information, and all around an incredible experience. Thank you!

"That was great experience for me to go though 14 days of lessons delivered in every morning! This course made me realize the ""bottomless potentials"" that bass guitar has. The more I learn, the more I become aware of the clear facts that I did not know. Thank you !! PS... Also, as for non-native speaker, your English is very clear, which helped me a lot to understand you. While I appreciate other online instructors, sometimes it is hard for me to follow their strong-accentted English."

I studied music most of my life, but what Andrés transmits I did not see in any teacher, especially in musicians of his level. THANKS!!!

I liked everything, but what helped me the most was the intensive nature of this course; The fact of having to comply with daily practice and that there was so much new material of excellent quality, pushed me to go really far!

Wonderful, 1000% recommended, 14 days ago I didn't play as well as now

The scope of the course was intense and wide-ranging, yet also accessible and doable. It reminded me of the way a research team I worked with described a mathematics curriculum we were developing: it has a low floor and a high ceiling. That is, anyone could get started, and then take it as far as they desire. The combination of video presentations, live webinars, and community-building was well-balanced, and the experience was rich, complex, and inspiring. Andrés' approach, philosophy, and persistent positive focus on learning (improvement) supported a good self-inquiry into developing a productive and ongoing practice routine. I believe this will influence my attitude and choices about practice. The Quarantine course has given me a lot to work on for years.

This is an absolutely invaluable course. Taught me what books can not teach. I liked the emphasis on practice, breadth of content, and Andres' depth of knowledge and his teaching skills.

I was feeling stuck and now I have a new starting point.

I liked the way this course gradually tackled more complex musical ideas I feel I filled some holes in my music theory.

The course was absolutely amazing. It helped me understand how to overcome my musical obstacles, develop a solid practice routine and gain a holistic approach towards becoming a better musician.

It was an affordable course with lots of information. Great information for creating a practice routine. It's a good way to truly learn the instrument while understanding music.

This course was absolutely amazing and very necessary. The challenge to learn daily and the sense of urgency for staying on course was perfect.

It is the best experience for my life, it is helping me to learn new concepts every day. I keep studying this course, even though several months have passed since I took it, there is so much information that I keep assimilating it, I am very grateful to you Andrés...

This course was great, I would highly recommend it. There is no pressure from Andre and he encourages his students to work at their own pace. His attitude of treating all musician as equal, regardless of skill level creates en positive environment for learning. The fact that he keeps the material available you as long as you need it after the course ends also take the pressure off. The class not only helps you become a better bass player but a better musician.

A lot of information. The kind that is for life. You end up doing things you didn't even know you were capable of. It was all new for me but Andrés explains with such clarity that it leaves no room for doubt.

This course is tremendously inspiring. Each exercise brings a different challenge, and at the same time everything leads to a deepening the relationship with your instrument in a climate of respect and love for music. This course mutes that anxiety when practicing, and brings back a playful feeling.

Andres' passion for music and explaining music theory created an atmosphere of motivation, and a true desire to learn, improve, and have fun!

So much more info and useful exercises. Not only exercises but also examples of how to implement them and ways to merge exercises. This meant that you could practise more effeciently. Lots of new material, gave a huge incentive to get practising.

Joining this course was the best decision of 2020 without a doubt. Not only do I feel that it helped me begin to sort the information, but also acquire a habit of practicing.

Better than an in person masterclass. Good interaction. Nice blend of recorded content and in person action. Good mixture of more advanced and basic material. Everything can be practiced in small chunks. Very nice examples (Beatles, Piazolla, Sting). Nice to have a meal which is too large, but where everyone can pick a dish and save the rest for later. Webinars were valuable additions.

It is good to know that Andres has personally worked and studied with this material. That is the proof that this program will make you master your instrument and your craft.

I'm definitely not the same as 14 days ago, my routine changed, my way of seeing and understanding music is different. The material that is shared is great and I was able to go my way with no pressures.

I loved the course and highly recommend to anyone looking to expand their musical education. Before the course I found myself playing the same things over and over. I really liked how the course motivated me to practice. Andres did an excellent job explaining each exercise. It is much more clear what I need to work on now and I am excited to practice more!

I always saw improvisation as part of the Jazz language and as a distant and unreacheable planet. But thanks to Andrés' course, I have been able to go step by step, building the spaceship that allows me to travel these beautiful worlds.

I had answers to many unknowns that other teachers never knew how to explain

This was a university level experience to me personally. Learnt so much and I'm taking them very seriously and slowly coz the exercises are new to me and need time.

This course is suitable for everyone who loves bass, absolutely, especially ones who love Andres Rot's playing and styles. The course materials are suitable for every level, I've learnt a lot in practicing, in understanding Greek Modes and their sound, the importance on playing counterpoint if you wish to drill in playing chord melody even though I've already play and studied bass for 10 years and more. Everything he taught in this course is useful and very clear. It pushes me to look at my weaknesses and I'm getting improved a lot. The most wonderful thing is the webinars he offered. He answered all the questions and explained the course material's very clearly. Must join!!

The course is really well done and after these 14 days I really feel connected to my instrument (bass) and my inner voice. Practicing the exercises felt like making music and it improved my musicianship. I liked the structure of the course and the teaching method which I personally found really effective. I totally recommend it!

I have to say that Andrés' teaching method is excellent, since it does not limit you to receive classes at a specific time but you can take it at your own time. Also, he is very pedagogical and his classes are 100% clear. Highly recommended!

Excellent course, not only did it open my head but it broke it into a thousand pieces. Putting into practice techniques that I did not use much, the course was demanding, perfecting not only the technique but also to have more theoretical knowledge.

The amount of information and the way it is distributed every day blew my mind. I must say that my music theory base was very limited, but the course is structured in such a way that any level can take it.

I really enjoyed the way the material was packaged and the amount of really great exercises that were offered. It was all pretty accessible and demonstrated clearly. I was able to identify some basic things that I really need to build upon in my routine.

Inspiring exercises which you could use in your own way

"Your Course gave me motivation to practice, and to make it constructive. It taught me to see how I can progress step by step and in a real concret way. I think it was the most important thing for me to ""unlock"" I really appreciate your vision on how to acquire the knowledge of the fingerboard, and connecting all the materials in your course. I wasn't learning at all to connect feelings with playing, and now I do. I certainly have to THANK YOU for your content and your dedication to help us through our struggle of becoming the musician we want to be!"

It gave me so much to work on. It’s very valuable and affordable. I approach my practice routine in a more practical way. I am getting into a deeper relationship with my basses. I’m listening more deeply and feeling the harmony. Each exercise feels like a meditation. I love using my timer and I love playing in all 12 keys now too!
